Habilitation Services Eskilstuna About Us Habilitation is a specialist unit with specialized knowledge about permanent functional impairments and their consequences in daily life. We complement other health and medical care services. Our mission is to provide habilitation and assessment services to children, adolescents, and adults with permanent functional impairments such as mobility limitations, multiple functional impairments, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum conditions. We work in multidisciplinary teams divided into child, adolescent, and adult teams. The team includes occupational therapists, social workers, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, physiotherapists, special education teachers, and physicians. Habilitation provides services individually and/or in groups, at our clinic or in the patient's everyday environments. Since you will be an important part of our multidisciplinary team, it is important that you enjoy working with others and believe that the best results are achieved together. We work from a behavioral medicine perspective using applied behavior analysis (ABA), and you will be offered internal training in this approach. We meet regularly in county-wide professional meetings to discuss and collaborate on profession-specific issues with our colleagues in the region. Within our services, there is continuous improvement work in which all employees participate. The Habilitation Clinic in Eskilstuna is located in the beautiful natural setting of Odlaren, where you can easily take a pleasant forest walk during lunch. Your Responsibilities At habilitation, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team for patients aged 0–18 years. As a registered nurse, you contribute medical expertise and work closely with pediatric neurologists and child psychiatrists. The nurse's main areas of work are nutrition and elimination. You will work with patients who have gastrostomies, providing support and advice to families and networks regarding these as well as managing prescriptions. We also see many patients with eating difficulties of various kinds and provide support and guidance regarding this as well as monitoring growth. The nurse works closely with the dietitian. In the area of elimination, we work with independence training for incontinence and CIC/CIS, as well as with prescribing assistive devices. As a registered nurse, you will also staff the clinic's TeleQ service part-time to provide advice and guidance to patients and parents. Your Qualifications We are looking for a registered nurse, preferably with specialist competence in child and adolescent health. Experience working with children is an asset, as is knowledge of the habilitation service's target populations. A Class B driver's license is required.
