At the Palliative Medicine Unit, we offer meaningful work with a focus on each individual patient's needs. We strive to recognize and develop the healthy aspects and provide patients with the highest possible quality of life. You will care for patients admitted to our ward as well as patients in their own homes. Care is delivered in close collaboration with the patient and their loved ones in a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, dietitians, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. About You We are looking for a licensed nurse who wants work where you can make a difference in people's lives. We would appreciate if you have experience and education in palliative care. You are confident in your professional role and have the patient at the center of focus, which means you have the ability to see the patient as an individual and understand their needs. Furthermore, you are positive, flexible, solution-focused, collaborative, and comfortable working both in a team and independently. Since part of the work involves support and conversations, it is important that you have the ability for honest, open, and genuine communication. Your Future Workplace The Palliative Medicine Unit is part of the Geriatric Clinic and specializes in palliative medicine. We also have our hospital-affiliated home care service (LAH) where we offer specialized palliative medicine in the Kalmar area. Care is available 24/7 and is provided by a multidisciplinary team with special knowledge and expertise in palliative care. We welcome students, nursing assistant trainees, and physicians in training. We ensure high competence through internal training, continuous professional supervision, and daily reflection sessions. The Geriatric Clinic offers inpatient care, home care, and outpatient services. We strive to recognize and develop the healthy aspects in the most ill, provide a geriatric or palliative team to those who need it, lead and develop the content and scope of geriatric and palliative medicine, and especially prioritize patients with the greatest needs.
