State Institutional Care Board (SiS) is a government authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse disorders. SiS also carries out closed youth care. We operate youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse problems throughout the country. SiS LVM-hem Hessleby, located in beautiful forest surroundings just outside Mariannelund, receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse disorders. We have specialized expertise in receiving clients with mental health issues or challenging behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs. Job Description Would you like to help create vital change for vulnerable people? Then working as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth/clients toward new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that department routines function as intended. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our youth/clients, and you form the foundation of daily life activities such as schooling, cleaning, meal preparation, and more. You work to maintain order and safety at the institution according to our procedures. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and help ensure that our youth/clients receive the security and safety they need to break established patterns of behavior. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. Qualifications Your personal suitability is key to vital change. Therefore, you need to have a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, strong empathic ability, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues. You must also have: At least 2 years of post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.* B-category driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing Below are examples of merit-based requirements that can be used in recruitment (select what fits your specific recruitment process) Experience from client-facing positions at the Correctional Service, e.g., Correctional Officer Security Guard certification Experience from client-facing positions at the Migration Agency, e.g., officer at the Detention Unit Education in health and care Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young women, etc.) At SiS we value good workplace collaboration.
