Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for Ground Combat

Your Role As a mechanical design engineer with us, you become part of the Ground Combat business area, where we develop technical solutions for ground-based systems at the absolute forefront of technology. You work throughout the product's lifecycle - from concept development and innovation to testing, verification and further development. What makes this role unique is the close connection between design and practical verification, where you actively participate in tests and live fire exercises and see your solutions work in reality. You combine technical expertise with creative problem-solving and work in an environment characterized by collaboration, innovative thinking and continuous improvement. Examples of work tasks: Create high-quality 3D models and drawing documentation that enable efficient production Drive technical studies and contribute to developing innovative and competitive solutions Participate in and contribute to technical forums and workshops that drive development forward Plan and conduct tests and verifications, including live fire exercises, to ensure functionality, performance and quality Develop and evaluate prototypes, including using modern 3D printing Improve and further develop work methods, processes and procedures Collaborate with functions across the organization, such as production, procurement, and calculations Contribute to research and development projects with direct connection to our products You will primarily work in Catia and 3DExperience as these are our CAD systems. Your Profile We are looking for you who have a strong interest in technology and who wants to take full responsibility in design - from idea to finished product. You are structured and thorough, but also curious and solution-oriented. You enjoy collaborating with others and are confident in your expertise, with the ability to make technical decisions and drive your work forward. We believe you have: A degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from university or as a civil engineer Several years of experience in design, preferably related to product development, production engineering or quality Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Within our Ground Combat division you become part of a technology-intensive and developing environment where your expertise contributes to future ground-based systems. Here you work with varied and complex tasks in close collaboration with dedicated colleagues, while developing both professionally and personally. Together we drive development forward. The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to applicable regulations for security clearance at the time. For positions where Saab has security classification requirements, this may, where applicable, require certain citizenship.
