About the Role As a Design Engineer in POD propulsion at Kongsberg Maritime, you'll be a central part of developing our POD systems. You'll take on technical responsibility for 3D design, review, and follow-up of products from early ideas and concepts through to finished product and delivery. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues in Sweden and Finland, as well as suppliers and customers internationally. Your work will include product development, detailed design, and design of moving components for customer customizations. PODs are high-tech, fully electric propulsion systems and an important part of our portfolio of environmentally friendly marine solutions with high performance, low noise levels, and exceptional maneuverability. The position is based in Kristinehamn. Travel will occur. Key Responsibilities Design and detailed development of mechanical and electrotechnical components in POD systems, with focus on moving parts and complex mechanical systems. Work in Siemens NX and manage drawings in Teamcenter. Design reviews and support for junior colleagues. Ensure that products meet technical and customer-specific requirements. Participate in new development projects, customize products to specific customer needs, and contribute improvements to the existing product portfolio. Continuous contact with suppliers and customers to ensure correct components, quality, and delivery. About You With your strong interest in technology, you naturally approach problem-solving in a positive and engaged manner. You thrive in an environment with many contact points and cross-functional collaboration with a strong drive to deliver high-quality products to our customers. We'd like to see that you have: Engineering education in mechanics, mechanical engineering, or electronics. Very good skills in 3D CAD. Experience with complex design including moving parts. Ability to work independently and take responsibility for projects and deliveries. Experience in design reviews and supporting colleagues. Meritorious: Experience with Teamcenter or other PDM systems. Knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, or marine technical systems. Experience with international collaboration and supplier contacts.
