As a Project Manager in the Water and Wastewater department, you are responsible for driving projects or assignments from start to finish that contribute to achieving the goals our politicians have decided on. You are part of a work group with water and wastewater engineers, case officers, and a technical assistant. Although each person has their own areas of responsibility, you work together with your expertise and experience to reach the goals. The Municipal Administration Office serves three boards: the Municipal Council, the Building and Environment Board, and the Community Development Board. The office employs approximately 135 employees and is divided into staff, building and environment, and community development and growth areas, where the Water and Wastewater department is located. A day as a Project Manager in Water and Wastewater The municipality operates about twenty water treatment plants and approximately the same number of wastewater treatment plants. The pipeline network consists of over 360 kilometers of drinking water pipes, over 250 kilometers of sewage pipes, and approximately 100 kilometers of stormwater pipes that need to be managed and maintained. At the same time, we are developing new areas for housing and business where new pipelines are being laid. Krokom Municipality is expanding water and wastewater infrastructure in central parts of the municipality, and you will be part of this. The project includes developing connection plans, conducting surveys regarding conversion areas based on prioritized areas in the water service plan. You will be involved in planning and procurement of work related to drinking water and sewage pipelines. Work tasks may change over time based on operational needs and ongoing projects. A major advantage of working in a municipality the size of Krokom is proximity to other operations. You will have operational collaboration with colleagues in other departments. Your expertise You have an academic degree in roads and water, environment, civil engineering, or equivalent education that we consider relevant for the job. You may also be of interest to us if you lack an academic degree but have acquired competence and experience through working life that we consider equivalent. You have several years of experience working as a project manager, preferably within water and wastewater. You are an experienced project manager and feel confident taking on different roles in a project. We would like it if you are familiar with digital tools such as the Water and Wastewater Bank, mapping programs, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, or GIS/Geosecma. You express yourself easily in Swedish, both spoken and written, and have the ability to describe technically complex issues in a clear way that enables our politicians to understand and make strategic decisions. It is positive if you have experience working in a politically governed organization. We see that you are a confident and independent team player who readily takes initiative for development and improvement and contributes to a good work environment. You value and maintain good relationships both internally and externally, and you are constructive in problem-solving to achieve a good outcome. You enjoy coordinating many stakeholders and have a strong commitment to community development, sustainable development, and social benefit. Travel within and outside the municipality is part of the job, and a Class B driver's license is required. Other information Permanent full-time employment with a start date by agreement.
