About the position Our wastewater department consists of 20 people with various responsibilities who work together to ensure that our wastewater treatment facilities throughout our municipalities are operated safely and correctly - so that we treat wastewater before it is released back into the water cycle. The position is based in Uddevalla or Sotenäs by agreement. As a process engineer, you have a central role in ensuring efficient and robust processes at our wastewater treatment plants in Sotenäs and Färgelanda. You work both strategically and operatively to improve facility performance, meet regulatory requirements, and contribute to development and investment projects. Responsibilities Drive and develop process optimization work and monitoring of treatment results Manage contacts with regulatory authorities, reporting and compliance with applicable permits and legal requirements, and lead work on internal controls Develop and improve work processes, procedures, and methods within the operation Participate in planning and implementation of renovations and investments Prepare and quality assure functional descriptions and technical documentation for projects and procurements Support the operations organization with technical expertise and analysis Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: A degree in civil engineering or higher technical education in, for example, environmental technology, process engineering, chemical engineering, biotechnology, mechanical engineering, or equivalent professional experience that we consider comparable Good technical understanding and interest in processes Experience with analysis and monitoring Category B driving license (manual transmission) Computer skills Fluent in Swedish, spoken and written It is meritorious if you have experience with: Water and wastewater operations or process industry Biological and chemical treatment Operational optimization, automation, or process monitoring Project work or process investigations For you to succeed in this role, we see that you: Are analytical, structured, and solution-oriented Are proactive and take initiative for improvements Work well in collaboration and communicate easily with different functions Are thorough and quality-conscious Thrive in a role where you combine technology, coordination, and development Terms On-call duty may be part of the position.
