With an annual population growth of almost 2,000 residents and a municipality that aims to reach 200,000 residents in the long term, our parish is in constant motion. This development affects not only our residents but also business, associations, and the Christian congregation's role in the city. We operate in a context where our ten churches are organized into three geographical parish areas and where we run preschools, family counseling, and conversation and diaconal services. We are present at the hospital, university, and within the prison system, and we constantly seek new creative ways to be present where people live their lives. Here we meet people in different life situations and from many different cultural and church traditions. Österängskyrkan is not just the Church of Sweden's meeting place. The church is also used by several other Christian denominations for worship and activities. This creates unique opportunities for ecumenical meetings, joint learning, and a living Christian witness in the neighborhood. There is great commitment here for diaconal work, community, and social sustainability. We want to be a church that sees people's needs, builds relationships, and contributes to creating a good society together with other actors in the area. About the Calling and Mission As a priest at Österängskyrkan, you will have special responsibility for the church's presence in the neighborhood and for developing worship life, diaconal and ecumenical work. Here you will truly be a priest. Together with your colleagues, you will: lead worship services where people encounter God in Word and sacraments meet people in pastoral care, home visits, and everyday conversations be one of the forces in the church's diaconal work together with staff and volunteers build relationships with residents, associations, authorities, and other societal actors in the area develop and deepen cooperation with the denominations and congregations that use Österängskyrkan for worship and activities create meeting places that strengthen community, integration, and social sustainability teach and inspire people toward discipleship and deepened faith be part of the parish area East with colleagues from the district churches Ekhagskyrkan and Kristine kyrka, one of the city's major churches You will be an important representative of the Church of Sweden in a context where relationships, collaboration, and presence are crucial to the church's mission. Who We Are Looking For You are ordained as a priest in the Church of Sweden and have experience of parish work. You have a strong commitment to the church's diaconal mission and see encounters with people as a central part of the priest's service. You have the ability to build bridges between people, cultures, and church traditions and see ecumenical community as an asset. You are secure in your priestly identity and have a desire to develop the church's presence in a multicultural context.
