WORK TASKS A Personal Advocate provides support to people living with mental health disabilities. In the role of Personal Advocate, you work together with and on behalf of the client to map needs and find appropriate solutions. You provide support in contacts with authorities and other public actors, assist with applications for various services, and accompany the client to, for example, Försäkringskassan, Arbetsförmedlingen, healthcare providers, and municipal services when needed. The work aims to strengthen the individual's opportunities for a more independent life and improved quality of life. An important part of the assignment is also to advocate for the client's access to rehabilitation, employment, or other meaningful activities. The position also includes identifying and documenting shortcomings in society's support and service systems that may prevent the client's needs from being met. These identified system shortcomings are reported further to the County Administrative Board and the National Board of Health and Welfare. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a university degree such as a social worker, in behavioral science, or another field that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience meeting and supporting people with mental health disabilities and have a good understanding of their needs and life situation. You also have knowledge of relevant legislation and familiarity with the support services and services that society offers. It is an advantage if you have previously worked with people who have mental health disabilities and have knowledge of recovery-oriented work. Experience with contacts with authorities and the ability to navigate current laws, regulations, and policy documents is also considered a merit. As a person, you are empathetic and professional in your interactions. You have an easy time building trusting relationships, are attentive to others' needs, and work with both humility and commitment. You enjoy varied work where you can take your own initiative and responsibility. At the same time, you have good ability to cooperate and build long-term relationships with both clients and other actors. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities and your suitability for the assignment. A Class B driver's license is a requirement for the position. Employment type: Permanent employment.
