Personal Assistant to Newly Established Assignment We are seeking trustworthy, warm, and skilled personal assistants for a newly established assignment where both permanent positions and hourly temporary work are available. The assignment involves a client who communicates through a speech-generating device (alternative and augmentative communication) as she is unable to speak verbally. She can use one hand and uses a wheelchair. The person receives nutrition through a feeding tube and has a urinary catheter system via the abdomen and requires care based on these medical needs. The client's adult child also lives in the home and is involved in daily life. The client enjoys cooking, has a good sense of humor, and is emotionally sensitive — a family background with interest in horses may mean that horse-related activities occur or that animals and outdoor activities are important for wellbeing. As an assistant, you will be an important part of creating a safe, dignified, and joyful everyday life. Work tasks include support with personal hygiene, transfers using lifting and transfer techniques, management of feeding tube and catheter-related routines according to applicable guidelines and training, cooking and meal support based on the client's interests, communication support with the speech-generating device, and social and emotional support. You will plan and implement activities that strengthen her participation and quality of life — such as cooking together, conversations, short outings, or accompanying her to activities. We are looking for someone who is attentive, confident in care situations, and can create a calm and positive atmosphere. You will have the opportunity to be involved from the start in a newly established assignment. Positions can be offered on a full-time/part-time/as-needed basis depending on your preferences and the assignment's needs. Experience and Qualifications Experience working as a personal assistant, nursing assistant, or equivalent is desirable. Experience with or willingness to work with alternative and augmentative communication (speech-generating device/AAC). Knowledge of or willingness to be trained in feeding tube and catheter care according to applicable guidelines. Experience with transfers and lifting techniques, particularly ReTurner. Good ability to document, follow procedures, and good computer skills as certain mandatory work tasks are performed digitally. Requirement for background check: a criminal records extract will be required. Language: good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
