I have recently moved into my own home in Svedala and am now seeking a personal assistant who wants to be part of my daily life. I have type 1 diabetes and an intellectual disability, which means I need support in my daily living. A very important part of the work is helping me manage my diabetes. This includes, among other things, calculating and adjusting insulin based on food and physical activity, as well as administering insulin. This is a major responsibility and a central part of the position. My disability also means I need practical help and support in various everyday situations. Therefore, it is important that you are responsive and attentive to my needs – even when I cannot always express them myself. As a personal assistant, you work together with me in different environments: at home, at day activities, during leisure time, and at other activities. I enjoy baking, cooking, exercising, and taking walks, playing simple tennis, light jogging, tandem cycling, dancing, singing, crafting, reading, and visiting beautiful gardens. I am social, talkative, and imaginative and appreciate company and community. I am looking for you to work with dedication, warmth, and care. You are flexible, patient, a good listener, organized, and thorough. You need to be comfortable with home and household work. It is a great advantage if you are athletic and physically active. Extra points if you are handy and have an interest in creative pursuits or music – perhaps you enjoy painting or handicrafts, just as I do. You are welcome to be self-motivated, creative, and good at creating meaningful activities. Employment Type We are seeking both: An assistant for SLUV employment An hourly assistant All positions initially begin as hourly employment, with the possibility of other employment forms later. Working Hours Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, night, and standby time. Now that I live in my own apartment, you primarily work 24-hour shifts, but during the introductory period, shifts are shorter. You are often off on weekends, but needs can sometimes arise. During much of the summer and major holidays, you are currently usually off, as I stay with my parents, but this may change in the future, so some flexibility is needed.
