We are seeking a Native Language Teacher/Study Counselor in Spanish. Job Responsibilities As a native language teacher and study counselor, you will be employed centrally by the municipality within the Integration School unit, which serves the entire municipality with native language instruction and study counseling/language support in the native language from grade 1 through upper secondary school. Currently, approximately 50 teachers/study counselors work in the unit, covering more than 36 different languages. In your role as a native language teacher, you will plan, conduct, document, and assess based on the curriculum's objectives. Instruction may be conducted at multiple schools, and distance learning may be relevant for certain groups. Study counseling/language support takes place at the municipality's various primary schools and can be organized in different ways, such as before, during, or after lessons. The position requires collaboration with school principals and staff at the schools. Study counseling/language support is usually provided during school hours, while native language instruction typically occurs outside regular scheduled time, usually after school. You will participate in the unit's joint development work and have a base school where you participate in their collaborative development efforts, to the extent possible. Requirements for the Position: - Teacher certification for native language, Spanish, or alternatively a pedagogical education with broad competence - You must have a strong ability to express yourself orally and in writing in the native language you teach and in Swedish Meritorious for the Position: - You are well familiar with LGR22 Personal Qualities: As a study counselor/language support provider, you should have good insight into the Swedish school system and strong subject knowledge. You are flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances and are well acquainted with digital tools. We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has good self-awareness in your professional role. You have the ability to create good relationships and communicate well with students, guardians, and other staff. As a person, you can inspire and engage students and meet them based on their individual circumstances and knowledge level. We offer you an environment where language development instruction is a prerequisite and where collegial learning is central. You have the competence to teach both in-person with all students in the classroom and via digital media through distance learning, which requires good ability to structure work and strong initiative. You have a strong capacity for analysis and reflection and continuously develop your teaching. Personal suitability is given great consideration. About the Workplace: The Education Administration has approximately 1,200 employees and is responsible for preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education, commissioned education, and SFI (Swedish for Immigrants).
