As a mechanic with us, you will be responsible for both preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment that are critical to the production process. Your tasks include troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. In this role, you will focus on maintaining briquetting machines and associated equipment, playing an important role in ensuring their operational safety. Your Responsibilities Perform regular preventive and corrective maintenance on briquetting machines and associated systems, minimize downtime, and collaborate with management on more complex troubleshooting. Install, maintain, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure smooth and reliable production. Regularly inspect mechanical components for signs of wear, vibrations, or insufficient lubrication, and take corrective action to maintain efficiency and prevent failures. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical equipment, including HBI briquetting machines, material feeding systems, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes. Perform overhauls and grinding of machine parts for briquetting machines as needed. Use condition monitoring tools, such as vibration, temperature, and tribology analysis equipment, for proactive maintenance. Ensure full compliance with Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO) procedures during all maintenance work to maintain a safe work environment. We're Looking for Someone With: 3+ years of relevant practical experience in heavy industry, such as steel or gas industry, with particular experience operating and maintaining HBI briquetting machines. Documented ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and overhaul mechanical systems, including briquetting machines and hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Documented mechanical experience and qualifications in occupational health and safety, such as OSHA. High school diploma or equivalent education in a relevant field, with solid understanding of maintenance principles. Relevant technical certificates required for the role. Good knowledge of English; basic Swedish is a plus.
