Your Role As a mechanic at Saab Kockums Muskö, your main responsibilities will be focused on service, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical installations on the Swedish Navy's surface vessels. The role involves troubleshooting and maintenance of vessels with a high technical level and complexity. The work is varied and provides excellent opportunities to develop your craft and professional expertise. Examples of work areas include: Hydraulics Valve and pump maintenance Shaft removal Rudder assembly Pressure testing Work is performed both onboard vessels and in the workshop. Domestic travel may occur. Your Profile To be able to apply for this role, you need to have: Upper secondary education in mechanical engineering or equivalent B-class driver's license Good computer skills The work requires that you can express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English. It is a merit if you have experience in: Material processing including drilling, turning, and milling Thread cutting and flange connections Measurement techniques and laser alignment of machine installations Work with pumps and valves Drivelines of heavy industrial type Hydraulic systems Bridge crane, forklift, and mobile platform work Heavy lifting work, e.g., chain hoists To succeed in the role, we would like you to be someone who works in a structured and orderly manner and has a positive attitude with a strong interest in technology. The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to applicable security vetting regulations at any given time.
