The Field Division at Åre Östersund Airport has excellent snow preparedness and is one of the best in the world at snow removal! For the upcoming winter season, we are now seeking machine operators who, together with our regular staff, will work to ensure that aircraft can take off, land, and taxi safely at our airport. What does the role involve? As a winter seasonal machine operator, you will have a wide range of work tasks. Your primary task is snow removal of the airfield using various types of vehicles such as wheel loaders, dump trucks, snow blowers, and trucks. You will also be responsible for vehicle maintenance. The work is varied, just like the weather, and during bare ground conditions, the work focuses on cleaning, maintenance, and operation of the airport. The profession is broad, and there are opportunities to continually learn new things as our machinery fleet is large and contains several different types of modern machines. The position is seasonal work running from October 12 to April 18. The work is full-time and involves shift work on evenings, weekends, and holidays, and you will work approximately 7–12 shifts per month. The position may also include supplementary on-call shifts. To take this position, you need to live in the Östersund area, with a maximum commute time of one hour. Who are you? We are looking for someone who has: Completed upper secondary education Driver's license with Class C authorization Forklift certification according to Tlp10 Good driving experience with various work vehicles Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written (for communication with colleagues and over radio) Experience from machine operator jobs Meritorious: Wheel loader training As a person, you are a flexible team player who enjoys working in a group but also feels comfortable with independent work.
