Lead Engineer in Färgelanda

Description:

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Lead Engineer driven by transforming requests and designs into smart, manufacturable products. About the Role As Lead Engineer at Artifex, you will take on a technically leading key role with responsibility for driving product development, technical changes, and product launches all the way into production. You will lead a dedicated team of 7 people (both employees and consultants) toward established project goals. The focus is on product development of plastic and purchased items, where one of the major projects is currently the development of a new cab for a truck. The role is based at our facility in Färgelanda, and since strong local presence is required, you will likely need to live in the area. Your Main Responsibilities Project & Team Leadership: Lead and allocate work for the internal engineering team. You ensure that the team delivers well-developed products on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. Product Development & Manufacturability: Oversee projects and requests while ensuring that products are robust and optimized for assembly, tooling, and production. You will also conduct your own feasibility studies in CAD. Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a connector and link between customers, external suppliers, and our internal tooling and manufacturing specialists. Business Support: Prepare technical documentation for the quotation phase (RFQ) and support the process so that all costs are identified before submitting quotes to customers. Who Are You? We seek an unpretentious team player who thrives best in a broad, entrepreneurial environment rather than in isolated silos. You have strong drive, excellent collaboration skills, and communicate freely with people at all levels—from production to end customers. Requirements and Desired Qualifications: Engineering degree in mechanical engineering, plastic engineering, automotive engineering, or equivalent work experience. At least 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in interior components. Solid experience with project work and product launches (preferably APQP processes). Good understanding of plastic materials, blueprint reading, geometry, and reference systems. Basic knowledge of CATIA to conduct simple studies and reviews. Fluent English in speech and writing as it is our primary business language (Swedish is highly valued). Ability to travel within Sweden to support customers and suppliers on-site. What We Offer Culture: A dynamic and cross-functional work environment with short decision-making processes and great room for personal initiative. Salary: Monthly salary Working Hours: Standard daytime hours Benefits: Wellness allowance & reduced working hours Practical Information & Application Location: Färgelanda. Start Date: By agreement.
