Nynässkolan is a modern school for grades 7–9 where we take shared responsibility for the school's mission both in terms of values and knowledge. We want our students to feel positive drive, confidence in their abilities, and to develop according to their conditions. The school has approximately 540 students distributed across 19 classes. The school is located in central Gävle, just a stone's throw from one of Sweden's largest city parks, Boulognerskogen. We have newly built, beautiful, and functional facilities adapted for a modern school. You will work to build trust and engagement, and create an environment where every student feels seen and valued. Nynässkolan is now seeking a certified teacher who will work with small instruction groups. This is a permanent position with start date August 12, 2026. Selection and interviews are ongoing. We look forward to your application! 1 position(s). DUTIES You will teach small groups where you will work extensively with safety and a present, structured learning environment. You will work closely with, among others, student support services, subject teachers, special educators, and special education specialists. The groups are aimed at students who need extra support in their schooling. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to an engaging, varied, and high-quality school day where student development and well-being are in focus. You support and challenge students so they achieve good academic results and adapt instruction to their different needs and circumstances. Work is conducted in close collaboration with other educators, student support services, guardians, and external partners, and is carried out according to current objectives and guidelines. Your duties include, among other things: • Taking responsibility for planning, implementing, assessing, and evaluating instruction. • Working with individualized instruction in small groups. • Working flexibly at school and quickly adjusting your tasks. • Maintaining contact with guardians. • Working in a small team. • Mapping student needs and adapting instruction to their circumstances. • Designing the day and instruction according to students' needs. QUALIFICATIONS In this role, you actively contribute to a culture where we collectively take responsibility for creating the best conditions for student learning and development. You are flexible and enjoy sharing your ideas, take in others' perspectives, and see collegial learning as an integral part of the mission. We are looking for someone who: • Has a teaching degree and teaching certification with qualification to teach in grades 7–9. • Is familiar with and has knowledge of the national curriculum for compulsory school. • Has the ability to express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing, as this is required in work and dialogue with colleagues, guardians, and students. It is a merit if you have: • Worked with individualized instruction. • Experience working with adapted instruction in small groups. • Broad subject qualifications. • Special education expertise. • Experience teaching in regular classrooms. To succeed in this role, you have: • A natural ability to lead and motivate students and help them thrive and feel well. • Adaptability to different situations and the ability to change your perspective and approach. You see opportunities in change. • The ability to create calm and clarity both in groups and when working with individual students. • An inclusive working approach that makes each student feel belonging and safety. • The ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues and have a good and unpretentious approach to collaboration. • The ability to plan and organize your work well. As a final candidate, you must be able to provide a criminal records check from the police for work in school or preschool. This should not be attached to your application.
