Myrstugubergets Friskola is a primary school located in the heart of the Myrstugubergets residential area—a so-called "school in the village" that celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. The school currently has approximately 116 students distributed across grades F–5, and many families in the area choose to send their children here. The school has an excellent reputation and is guided by the motto "It is important to me that you succeed." Our staff is engaged, class sizes are smaller than average, and staff turnover is low. There is one class per grade level, and the school is divided into two departments. Grades 1, 2, and 3 are located at Vargen, while grades F, 4, and 5 are at Myran. The school is led by a principal, an activity coordinator for the after-school program, and a team leader responsible for grades F–5. We are looking for YOU—someone who can take great personal responsibility, is creative, flexible, and wants to collaborate in a team! We prefer that you are a certified music teacher, but most importantly, you are competent in the subject and passionate about teaching. Prior teaching experience in both music schools and primary schools is a merit. The position can be structured in two ways. Either as a 40% position spread over two days per week, where you are primarily responsible for music instruction but also dedicate some time to the after-school program. Or the position can be expanded to 100%, with music instruction complemented by after-school activities (classroom support during school hours) on the remaining days. Music instruction is conducted with full classes in grades 1 and 2, and in smaller groups of approximately 10–12 students in grades 3, 4, and 5 to enable high-quality teaching. Over the past two years, the school has prioritized digitalization and student well-being, among other initiatives. This school year, we are working with language-developing teaching methods both at school and in the after-school program, and we would appreciate seeing this approach integrated into music instruction as well. We want to continue developing the after-school program to create "continuity" throughout the students' entire school day, so initiatives for incorporating music activities into the after-school program are welcome. The school is characterized by a high staff-to-student ratio and certified teachers. The school also has an EHT team consisting of a principal, school nurse, school psychologist, counselor, and special education teacher.
