DUTIES As an afterschool teacher in Hammarö municipality, you have the opportunity to be a central part of the afterschool program's work and contribute to a meaningful school day for students. In your role as afterschool teacher, you work together with other staff to plan, implement, and develop activities based on our governing documents and shared goals. Your assignment during the school day can vary depending on both your competence and students' needs, making each day unique and developmental. The position also includes responsibility, together with other afterschool educators, for planning and implementing the school's recess activities. You are part of a team where you are expected to contribute a solution-oriented and results-focused approach, always with students' needs in focus. In close collaboration with colleagues, you actively work to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment for all students. In your role, you will use and evaluate different pedagogical methods to promote development and learning, while seeking new strategies to meet each individual's needs and strengthen their academic and personal development. We are looking for someone who is conscientious and independent, with a strong ability to build trusting relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues. As part of Hammarö municipality, you also have access to support and development through our afterschool program coordinator, who leads quality improvement work, arranges network meetings, and is responsible for shared meetings for all afterschool programs within the municipality. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a pedagogical degree with a focus on afterschool education. We expect you to be firmly grounded in the school's values and can implement the curriculum with high quality. You should be a clear and positive leader in the group of children with the ability to create a good and accessible learning environment. You have an exploratory working style and work for inclusive solutions with the goal that students are engaged in their learning. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and your work should be characterized by curiosity, warmth, and conscious choices. We want you to describe, in your application and at a possible interview, your abilities in meeting with students, in leadership, and in collaboration with others. From experience, we know that the ability to analyze and reflect on your own efforts and the program's content is also very important for quality. Therefore, it is important that you can reflect on the program's content and your implementation. We expect you to have good collaboration skills, willingness, and ability to participate in the afterschool program's and school's systematic quality improvement work. At Bärstadsskolan, we are a practice school and we expect you to complete mentor training at Karlstad University (KAU) if you have not already done so. Experience from work in preschool class, afterschool programs, and primary school is advantageous. Selection is ongoing and interviews may be conducted continuously during the application period.
