Åsbro School, together with Rönneshytta School, is part of the Northern School Area. Each school has one class per grade level: preschool through grade 6, and they are located in small communities close to nature. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a teacher, you plan, teach, and follow up on your instruction so that all students have the opportunity to progress as far as possible in their knowledge development. You work to promote students' right to safety, participation, and inclusion. You work closely with the other teachers in the grades 4-6 team and serve as mentor for 15-20 students depending on how the team divides mentoring responsibilities. You are careful to guide your students and create trusting relationships. You use a teaching approach that trains your students in taking responsibility and gives them the opportunity to have a say in their education. Your work includes following up on students' knowledge development, documenting, and assessing. As a mentor, you keep the student's guardians informed about their progress through regular development conversations. As a lead teacher, you actively work on instructional improvement according to the goals defined by the school and your team. You will lead a teacher group (grades 4-6) where you investigate, critically examine, and test solutions with the aim of improving your teaching as part of the municipality-wide initiative: School Improvement Together. You participate in a municipality-wide process leader group, where a development leader, together with the municipality's lead teachers—and at certain times a researcher from the University of Gothenburg—discuss experiences with the goal of developing the lead teacher role and the teacher groups' work on instructional improvement. Student participation is central to the improvement work. You are also part of the school's steering group for development work. The lead teacher assignment runs for one year with the possibility of extension. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who: • Are a certified teacher for grades 4-6. • Have several years of documented experience and strong references regarding your teaching. • See conscious and relational leadership in the classroom as fundamental in meeting all students' needs and opportunities for development and learning. • Have the ability to build trusting relationships. • Have experience mentoring colleagues. It is a merit if you • Have experience with evidence-based collaborative development work. • Are a certified teacher in Swedish and Social Sciences subjects, grades 4-6. The position requires a class B driver's license, with access to a personal vehicle being desirable. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
