Learn more about Sunne at sunne.se Description: We are seeking a substitute teacher for Grades 4-6, Mathematics, Science, and Home Economics. Östra School, with its central location in Sunne, is close to the library, several green spaces, and outdoor recreation areas. The school has approximately 300 students from preschool through Grade 6, with an accompanying after-school program, and also houses an adapted primary school. Sunne Municipality's schools organize education based on the belief that children and students can and want to learn and develop, with the understanding that development requires long-term commitment, perseverance, and a holistic perspective. Through clear pedagogical relational leadership, we aim to create a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment with variety and challenges. We develop instruction in our programs using language and knowledge-building methods with differentiated teaching. We see it as important to participate in team time for shared dialogue, learning and development, as well as collaboration across grade levels. You will be part of the Solbacka school area, which includes Lysviks, Prästbol, and Östra schools. The school's student welfare team consists of counselors, school nurses, special educators, special teachers, as well as a principal and two assistant principals. Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include leading and taking responsibility for pedagogical work based on the curriculum. You will be part of a work team responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating pedagogical work. Mentorship in Grade 4 is part of the position, where you are expected to conduct meetings and development discussions with guardians. You will find colleagues in a strong community where everyone takes personal responsibility, receives mentoring, and participates in targeted training. Development work and systematic quality assurance are also part of your role, as well as collaborating with external organizations and authorities such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry, and rehabilitation services. Qualifications: We are looking for a teacher with valid certification in Mathematics and Science for primary school Grades 4-6. You have a holistic perspective, interest and commitment to the whole child's development, are flexible and able to adapt, and have the ability to teach at different levels using various methods. We are looking for someone who is calm and stable, with great patience and the ability to adjust to students' circumstances and needs. Terms: A valid criminal record clearance from the police must be provided before employment. Interviews will begin immediately so that placement can occur before the application deadline. The position will be filled subject to necessary decisions being made. This is a fixed-term position for the 2026/2027 school year with placement at Östra School.
