As a special education teacher at Kymlingeskolan, you will primarily work with students who need additional support in the learning environment. You work directly with students, individually or in groups, and also collaborate with other teachers and resource educators to create the best conditions for our students' learning and development. The role also includes close collaboration with students' guardians. You provide guidance to staff on various forms of adaptations, and are responsible for planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating instruction and interventions together with your colleagues. You contribute your expertise to the development of educational assessments, action plans, and intervention programs. As a special education teacher, you are also an important part of the school's student welfare team and regularly meet with other special education teachers and specialists from the municipality at networking meetings. You must be a qualified special education teacher with a focus on language, writing, and reading development and/or mathematics. It is a significant advantage if you have both specializations. You have the formal qualifications and an instinctive understanding of what our students need to achieve their full potential based on their circumstances and educational goals. You are confident in your role and have the courage to make independent decisions while valuing collaboration. As a person, you are receptive, results-oriented, and work methodically to meet deadlines and complete projects. You build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues and communicate with clarity and warmth. You are unpretentious, solution-focused, and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves or think outside the box when it comes to finding the right learning environment for our students.
