The unit is centrally located under the Municipal Board and belongs to the municipality's management office. We prepare and serve meals to preschools, schools, and care and social services within Norberg. Our meals should also promote a healthy lifestyle and create an interest in food and health. Duties In your role as a cook, you will work with varying tasks within meal service operations. You will contribute to ensuring that meals maintain high quality and are adapted to our guests' needs. Your responsibilities include, among other things: - Responsibility for production and serving of meals - Prepare and handle special diets and allergen-free meals - Pack items for our different departments - Receive goods and handle orders - Have contact with customers and operations - Work with self-monitoring according to current procedures - Responsibility for dishwashing, cleaning, and order in the kitchen - Work in our meal program Matilda Qualifications We are looking for you who have a great interest in food and meals. You are curious, flexible, and willing to try new ways of working. You enjoy cooking for different target groups, whether the guests are in preschool, school, or care services. You have very good knowledge of special diets, allergen-free meals, vegetarian cuisine, and other adapted meals. You are comfortable following routines and instructions and have a clear focus on quality, health, and good service. You need to be comfortable working both independently and together with others. We are looking for you who have: - Relevant education as a cook and experience working in large-scale kitchens - Ability to prepare meals with a focus on quality and health - Good knowledge of allergies, special diets, and adapted meals - Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues and other operations - Creativity, commitment to food and meals - Flexibility and ability to adapt to a varying work environment and workload We place great emphasis on your engagement, curiosity, and willingness to learn and develop in the role. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as the work requires you to understand and follow instructions, routines, self-monitoring, and other guidelines that are important for safety, quality, and service. Terms Due to the ongoing reconstruction of our two school kitchens, we are seeking an employee for a fixed-term employment. During the employment period, work assignments may take place at various units within the Food Services Unit. Possibility for extension may exist.
