Do you want to help develop Nässjö's geodata? We are now looking for a cartography and survey engineer for a temporary position with a focus on maintaining and managing the municipality's geodata. With us, you'll get a broad and varied role in creating and quality-assuring the geographic information that forms the foundation for the entire municipality's community development process. This role offers you a fantastic opportunity to work broadly within municipal cartography and gain valuable experience. You will become part of the urban planning office where we work closely together in an unpretentious and solution-oriented environment. The cartography unit consists of six people who together drive and develop the municipality's cartography and GIS activities, and we also collaborate with Höglandsförbundet through a shared GIS platform. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS In this role, you will work broadly with varying tasks both in the field and in the office. A central part of your work is maintaining and quality-assuring the municipality's map databases. You will also work with surveying and layout, which includes everything from residential construction to technical facilities and infrastructure. The work involves close contact with project managers, contractors, and colleagues within various municipal operations. You will step directly into our ongoing operations where the work is varied, involves fieldwork in different environments, and gives you a significant role in ensuring that the municipality's geographic information is correct and up to date. The role also includes extensive communication, where you continuously coordinate information, create clarity in assignments, and maintain good dialogue with both internal and external partners. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is educated as a cartography and survey engineer, has a background in GIS/geodata, or has equivalent experience. Since this is a temporary position, we would prefer someone who can quickly adapt to new systems and become self-sufficient in daily work. You have good computer skills, an interest in digital tools, and experience with map databases. Experience with Topocad and Trimble equipment is required, as is previous experience with maintaining primary maps or geodata. You are fluent in Swedish in both speech and writing and have a Class B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles. The work involves fieldwork in varying terrain, which you need to be comfortable with. You have initiative, are a quick learner, and take steps to drive your tasks forward. You are solution-oriented, flexible, and confident when meeting with both colleagues and external partners. Strong communication skills are essential in this role, as you will have daily contact with many different functions.
