Inventory Control Specialist

A snapshot of your day Siemens Energy is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist with overall responsibility for developing, coordinating, and improving inventory management in our production and operational workflows. The role involves creating balance between material availability, capital efficiency, production efficiency, and sustainable resource utilization. The position is analytical and broad in scope, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration. The role reports to the Production Manager and provides excellent visibility into the entire value chain—from engineering and planning to finance and production. How you will make an impact Drive and coordinate initiatives to optimize inventory from a holistic perspective Analyze inventory structure, turnover, valuation, and capital allocation, and implement improvement measures Optimize inventory levels based on both operational needs and financial objectives Develop methods for inventory management and create stable material flows Identify obsolete, redundant, or technically outdated materials in close collaboration with relevant departments Work cross-functionally with production, planning, procurement, and finance, and use ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) as decision support tools What you bring Relevant academic background in engineering, industrial economics, supply chain, or equivalent experience Experience working in or close to manufacturing industry, preferably with connections to inventory, production, or supply chain Understanding of how material flows, production planning, and technical changes interact Ability to work structurally, analytically, and solution-oriented Strong collaboration skills and experience working cross-functionally Fluent Swedish and English are required Experience with SAP is a plus About the Team The team consists of production managers and a team assistant, where collaboration is central to ensuring correct inventory levels and support for production. The role also involves close collaboration with business administration and frequent contact points with engineering, planning, procurement, and finance. Work is conducted in close coordination with multiple supply chain functions, providing broad understanding of operations and good opportunities to influence processes and results.
