Welcome to Wendesgymnasiet with well-adapted facilities for our three vocational programs: the Construction and Property Development Program (which you will be part of), the Vehicle and Transport Program, and the Plumbing and Property Management Program. Your Role You will teach in the Construction and Property Development Program's Building specialization. Your work includes teaching based on the gymnasium's curriculum that stimulates students to learn and take responsibility. You will translate your professional expertise into practical, pedagogical, work-like educational activities where theory and practice work together. In planning and individualizing your teaching, you use young people's everyday life and culture, alternative learning tools, current research, and a scientific foundation. You reflect individually and with colleagues on your work to continuously develop both pedagogically and professionally. You also assess, analyze, and document each student's needs and results, incorporating assessment from practical work. As a leader, you create a safe and developmental learning environment and work to ensure students learn the importance of a safe working environment for a sustainable professional life. You are also responsible for the equipment used in the education and teach students how to maintain it. You build trusting relationships with students and other collaborating partners characterized by positive expectations. To ensure access to workplace-based internships, you create and maintain networks with employers. You also promote the school and education at trade fairs to attract future students. Who Are We Looking For? We are primarily looking for someone with teacher certification focused on vocational subjects, specifically in building construction. Secondly, we are open to candidates with a teaching degree focused on vocational subjects in building construction. Thirdly, candidates with university entrance eligibility who can apply for vocational teacher training starting in 2027 are welcome. Vocational education in building construction is also required. You must have documented industry experience as a carpenter in building construction. Previous experience as a teacher or vocational teacher is a merit, as is experience as a trainer or leadership experience in youth activities. We would like you to have specialized professional knowledge in building construction, and specialized knowledge in groundwork and construction, as well as a foreman's certificate, would be advantageous. You should have the ability to plan individualized and varied teaching based on an overview of a pedagogical plan. You should be able to integrate digital technology into your daily work. We appreciate your ability to engage students in both theory and practice and create motivation and interest in self-directed learning. It is also an advantage if you have an interest in current affairs and young people's everyday life to incorporate into your teaching. The position requires strong collaboration and communication skills. You are a professional, responsible, and clear leader who can make decisions, structure, and organize. Your leadership is characterized by the ability to set boundaries, and you are a good representative of our values. About Us The gymnasium is located in beautiful Åsums pine forest, which until 1994 was the Royal Wende Artillery Regiment. The military facilities used by the school are large and spacious and well-adapted for our operations.
