The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. SiS Youth Facility Eknäs serves school-age boys aged 12-16 years with psychosocial difficulties, involvement in crime, and substance abuse issues. Do you also enjoy organizing, leading, and planning? Apply for the position of Group Leader at SiS! As a group leader, you contribute to a safe and secure environment for both placed children and young people/clients as well as staff members. In this role, you actively participate in the operational care and treatment work in the unit. You are responsible for planning, operationally leading, and distributing the daily work. You serve as a role model and ensure that work is conducted with legal certainty and in accordance with applicable guidelines, methods, and established goals. You keep the unit manager on your unit continuously updated on matters that may affect the work environment, care and treatment environment, or operational shortcomings. You will also be involved in introducing and mentoring new staff members. You are part of a team with a unit manager and treatment administrator, and you will work closely together to achieve good results. Qualifications To thrive and succeed in the role of group leader, you are motivated by working with and helping people in vulnerable life situations. Operational work and contact with young people/clients is your primary focus. You are skilled at planning, organizing, and prioritizing work efficiently and are clear in your communication with others. At the same time, you are attentive and affirming in your interactions with young people/clients and staff members, and you are good at building relationships. You have a professional approach and a strong ability to collaborate and understand others' perspectives. The work is sometimes challenging and requires you to be stable and remain calm even in stressful situations. You should also have: - A relevant university degree in social sciences, healthcare, or behavioral sciences, or other education (minimum 2-year post-secondary qualification) combined with work experience that SiS considers equivalent - Several years of documented work experience within SiS or similar organizations focused on care, treatment, and security, such as social services, healthcare and treatment, criminal justice, or other relevant fields - Strong ability to express yourself in Swedish, both in writing and verbally For a group leader to be appointed as deputy unit manager and/or be part of the management team, they must have a university education of at least 180 credits in social sciences, healthcare, or behavioral sciences.
