About Us The Rehabilitation Team at Sala Municipality is an enthusiastic and ambitious group consisting of occupational therapists, physical therapists, and rehabilitation assistants. We are responsible for rehabilitation services throughout the municipality's elderly care as well as in the functional disability sector. We are a relatively large work group that is divided into smaller teams based on area of operation. Your Responsibilities As a physical therapist in senior housing, you will be responsible for rehabilitation services at one or two of our facilities in central Sala. Your base will be at the unit, and you will work as part of a team with an occupational therapist, rehabilitation assistant, nurses, unit manager, and care staff. You plan your days independently and, using a person-centered approach, you will conduct physical therapy assessments, evaluations, and interventions (such as exercise and assistive device prescription) based on the individual's specific needs, goals, and circumstances. You will have a natural and active role within the patient team regarding preventive and rehabilitative measures at both individual and group levels. There are great opportunities for experience exchange and collegial support as you will have daily contact with your rehabilitation team colleagues. You will also have the opportunity to perform administrative tasks in our shared office facilities at Sala Hospital. Beyond direct patient care, your responsibilities will also include supporting, guiding, and to some extent educating care staff in function and activity-preserving approaches, ergonomics, transfer techniques, and assistive device management. Together with the unit manager and colleagues, you will also participate in the operation's quality and development work. You may also have the opportunity to mentor students from Mälardalen University. What We Are Looking For We are seeking a licensed physical therapist (or physiotherapist), preferably with a few years of professional experience. Prior experience in municipal rehabilitation or work in senior housing is a merit, as is further education in areas such as dementia, geriatrics, or other relevant fields. You are dedicated to your work, collaborate easily, and communicate pedagogically with patients, colleagues, relatives, and other partners. You are solution-focused, initiative-taking, and feel confident making decisions within your professional area of responsibility. The work tasks are varied and of different character, which requires you to be responsible, organized, flexible, and solution-oriented.
