Job Duties As a physiotherapist at the health center, you work both independently and as part of a team assessing and treating primary care patients with varying diagnoses. You primarily see patients with musculoskeletal complaints but also other diagnoses such as COPD and stroke. Patients are referred by physicians, district nurses, or seek care directly without a referral. You will have your own clinic and see patients individually as well as in groups, guiding patients to actively influence their own health. Your work also includes prescribing physical activity/rehabilitation (FAR), fitting assistive devices, and supervising physiotherapy students. Improvement work is an important part of your daily tasks. About the Workplace The 11 region-operated health centers and Primary Care Emergency Clinics in Västmanland are run as an intrapreneurship with a civil service board and Region Västmanland as owner. The operations are organized under the name Primary Care Västmanland, and together we work to provide accessible and high-quality primary care throughout the region. We continuously invest in developing our workplaces to meet future primary care needs. The health center is centrally located in Hallstahammar and also has a branch clinic in Kolbäck. The health center has parking nearby and good bus connections to, among other places, Västerås. We serve approximately 12,350 registered patients and offer physician and district nurse clinics, maternal and child health care, and rehabilitation services with a physiotherapist and counseling services. A dietitian, health center, and occupational therapist are also available at the health center several days per week. Previous experience working in primary care is highly valued. We prefer candidates with education in OMT (orthopedic manual therapy) and behavioral medicine, Axelina, McKenzie, and acupuncture. Knowledge of basic body awareness, pain and stress management is advantageous for the position. You have strong skills in assessing patients' functional levels and treating, training, or advising patients according to evidence-based knowledge when available. Experience with the Cosmic medical record system and good Swedish language skills (both spoken and written) are preferred. You are confident and stable in your profession and work independently and in a structured manner. You have a flexible work approach and strong ability to collaborate with others. Your communication skills are excellent, and you ensure that you understand and are understood. You easily empathize with others' situations and adapt your work to each individual's circumstances.
