1 position(s). Are you driven by culture and recreation issues, do you have strong expertise and experience in this field, and do you want to help take our administration forward? If so, read on and apply for the role of Culture and Recreation Director with us! About the Workplace Vaggeryd Municipality is a place with two vibrant towns. Surrounded by Småland's forests and countryside, the municipality offers an attractive environment for both work and everyday life. Its strategic location between Jönköping and Värnamo contributes to the municipality's growth. As an employee with us, you are an important part of this development. Together we create good services for our residents and build a society where engagement, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a real difference are at the center. The Culture and Recreation Administration operates activities including libraries, cultural school, swimming and sports halls, open youth activities, and is engaged in the defense history museum Miliseum. In the administration, we work to provide Vaggeryd Municipality's residents with a broad range of cultural, recreational, sports, and outdoor activities. A central part of the work is support for and collaboration with the municipality's many associations and non-profit organizations. Job Responsibilities Being an administration director within the Culture and Recreation Administration means fantastic opportunities to drive the administration's development to make a difference for our citizens and employees. As an administration director, you work for the Culture and Recreation Board, and your main assignment is to develop all operations, in both the short and long term based on established goals. You are responsible for implementing political decisions and serve as a link between politics and civil servants, which requires work in close dialogue with the political level. In the role, the Municipal Director is your immediate supervisor and you are part of the municipality's management group that collaborates on municipal-wide and shared issues. You are the administration's leading civil servant with the task of coordinating the administration from a holistic perspective in municipal operations, and you are responsible for the administration's finances, operations, employees, and work environment. You are the manager of the unit managers at the library, cultural school, and open youth activities, the Miliseum museum, and sports and swimming halls. Qualifications We are looking for you with relevant academic education. You who are applying have experience working as a manager within public administration with political governance. If you have experience managing other managers, we see that as a plus. We see it as a major advantage if you have both interest and experience working within the culture and recreation field. As travel occurs during work, a B driver's license is a requirement. Collaboration with associations, politics, business, and several other parties is a large part of the assignment. We therefore see great value in relationship-building skills combined with good judgment and communicative ability. In the smaller administration, the role of administration director entails a wide scope. One day can include everything from regional development initiatives, openings at associations and board meetings to operational work with our hiking trails. We therefore see that you are unpretentious and that you thrive with variety. As an administration director, you are expected to set direction for the operations, which means you need to be both strategic and have the ability to see, capture, and drive initiatives.
