The Adapted School in Ulricehamns Municipality, which is part of the Tingsholm school district, offers students with intellectual disabilities an education carefully adapted to each student's individual needs – from primary school through upper secondary and adult level. The operations are based on the same structure as primary school while also including special subject areas that promote students' motor skills, communication, everyday activities, aesthetic development, and understanding of reality. Here, each student has the opportunity to develop in a safe learning environment where participation, learning, and hope for the future are central. Following participation, together with seven other school municipalities, in the research program Knowledge Assignment within Adapted School (KASK), under IFOUS direction, we have a deliberately developed focus on student development and learning in both school and after-school care. We are now seeking an engaged, driven, and knowledgeable colleague who, together with us, wants to continue developing the adapted school of tomorrow. DUTIES Your task is to teach students studying according to the curriculum for adapted primary school within subject areas for grades 1-9 and possibly for the adapted upper secondary school's individual program. You plan and conduct instruction based on each student's ability, create good conditions for learning, and stimulate and challenge students' development and learning. As one of the educators, you, together with your colleagues, are responsible for providing students with the pedagogical and social support they need. This may mean that you as a teacher also perform certain tasks that are usually assigned to a student assistant. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is a certified preschool teacher and has work experience in preschool, school/adapted primary school. It is advantageous if you are trained as a special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities and if you have knowledge of alternative communication. Knowledge and experience of working with a low-affect approach with students with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is also advantageous for this position. You work in a structured manner, are flexible, and have good collaboration skills. You have a good ability to build relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians alike. To fit the role, you need to be calm and stable even in stressful situations. You have a positive attitude in challenging situations and are solution-focused. Clear communication and a calm approach are important, as is your good empathetic ability. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Employment type: Permanent employment.
