Description of the Workplace The Lung Biology research group conducts research in lung diseases. The research has been at the forefront of the field for several years. The group is led by Professor Gunilla Westergren-Thorsson and consists of both research and technical staff. The activities are located at the Biomedical Center in Lund. Duties and Responsibilities The duties include both administrative and laboratory tasks: Procurement and invoice coding Introduction of new employees and students Work environment and hazardous materials Risk assessments Chemical inventory management Section meetings Lung dissection Handling fresh human tissue: isolate cells, prepare tissue (fix and freeze) Cell cultivation and participation in lab maintenance Qualifications Requirements for the position: Degree as a Biomedical Analyst or equivalent Experience with the procurement portal Primula Experience with Labguru Experience with administrative systems, financial, and budget systems Experience with work environment and safety Experience with section meetings Experience with hiring procedures Solid knowledge of the lung, lung diseases such as COPD and IPF, and their ECM Solid knowledge of histology (immunohistochemistry/fluorescence) Good experience with laboratory work and standard equipment Good cell cultivation skills (cell differentiation, histology) Solid knowledge of statistics Ability to work independently Ability to collaborate effectively The position requires flexibility and the ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel. You need extensive experience with the university's administrative systems and insight into the university's organization. Great importance will be placed on personal qualities.
