Are you an educator with a passion for children, youth, and church life? Viken Church is now seeking a parish educator for a 5-month temporary position. Here you'll have the opportunity to make a difference – by creating safe spaces where children and young people can grow in faith and community. Description As a parish educator at Viken Church, you are an important part of the congregation's work with children, youth, and their families. Viken Church is the primary workplace, but work may also be located at the Cathedral or other locations within Karlstad Parish. Responsibilities In your role, you are expected to plan and lead: • Children's groups, camps, excursions, and gatherings • Devotions and services for and with children and youth • Serve as the responsible educator for Lillkyrkan (Little Church) You work both independently and together with your colleagues at Viken Church and other staff in the parish. Since Viken Church is located in Karlstad's most rapidly expanding area, you should be creative and innovative to reach our new members. What we're looking for: • Education as a parish educator or equivalent pedagogical training • A passion for meeting children and youth in their daily lives and faith development • Confidence in your role as a leader and role model • Strong collaboration skills, attentiveness, and pedagogical approach • Share the Swedish Church's faith and values and are a member You need strong communication skills in both speech and writing, and should feel comfortable with digital tools.
