Family Counselor and Coordinator for Open Preschool and Family Center

We are seeking a family counselor and coordinator for our Open Preschool and Family Center in Hallstahammar, as one of our employees is retiring. Our open family activities program is a popular meeting place for parents with children aged 0–6 years, located centrally in Hallstahammar. The program is part of the Family Center's operations and serves as a hub in the municipality's work on parenting support, collaboration, and family support. At the Family Center, in addition to Open Preschool staff, there are 10 family therapists, a team leader, and a school social worker providing additional support to children and families—these will be your closest colleagues. One of the family therapists will work alongside you at the family center. We have strong and established collaboration with Child Health Services and Maternal Health Services at the health center in the municipality, and we are currently in the process of launching a Family Center together. The unit also has treatment specialists and housing support workers who provide support and treatment services to the municipality's adult residents. 1 position(s). DUTIES We are looking for someone who wants a combined role as both an educator/family counselor at the Open Preschool and as a coordinator at the Family Center. The municipality and region are currently launching a family center, which means you will play a central role in helping to shape and develop the operations from the ground up alongside other participants. At the open preschool, you will be responsible for educational activities in accordance with the Education Act's provisions for open preschools, and as a coordinator, you will plan and coordinate the work carried out at the family center, together with the region's employees in child health and maternal health services. The position includes, among other things: Having overall responsibility for the program's content and leading, planning, evaluating, and developing the work based on established goals, Running activities for children and parents, building good relationships, and being a conversation partner when needed, Collaborating with the municipality's family therapists, maternal/child health services, other units within child and family welfare services, and organizations such as the library, public dental care, and nonprofit organizations/associations, Providing support and guidance to parents and sometimes helping them navigate various government agencies and community contacts, Periodically being responsible for activities at other locations, such as field trips. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a teacher degree focused on preschool or a social work degree with relevant experience. Several years of experience working with children and parents. Experience working at an open preschool or family center and collaborating in multiprofessional teams is highly desirable. You are confident, responsible, have excellent collaboration skills, are proactive, and enjoy driving development work in a politically governed organization. You are professional, relationship-building, and meet each individual with respect and attentiveness. It is desirable if you have experience working in multicultural environments and have training in ABC and Parenting in Sweden. A driver's license for a manual transmission car is required for this position. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
