Foster Care Secretary
Description:
At Trelleborg, we work together for a growing successful municipality where life is good. Our 61 villages and 21 city districts are creative meeting places that buzz with life. Here we want things, talk about them, and come as we are. This means we welcome others in the same generous and curious way. Welcome to join the journey! The Social Services Department's mission is to work with social services and provide support so that everyone in the municipality feels safe and has equal opportunities in life. We want everyone to be able to be active and involved in society. With a focus on respect for individuals' right to determine their own lives, we are responsible for three important areas: care and welfare, support for people with disabilities, and assistance to individuals and families. Our goal is that everyone receives the support and care they need. Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our core values of openness, respect, and responsibility, it is important and decisive that these values are as natural for you as they are for us in our work. The Workplace In the Foster Care and Family Law Unit, you will become part of a competent and engaged work group with five foster care secretary positions, five positions with case-responsible social workers (child case workers), one parent support social worker, one senior social worker, and one unit manager. The unit also includes a team working with family law and a team working with family counseling. The Foster Care and Family Law Unit in Trelleborg is one of five units within Individual and Family Services, which also consists of the Reception and Investigation Unit 0-20 years, the Advice and Support Unit, the Prevention Unit, and the Dependency and Adult Unit. Work environment and competence and development work are prioritized areas. We provide thorough introduction, including participation in the national Professional Journey program, and training in relevant methods such as MI and Signs of Safety. External and internal supervision is standard, as is continuous professional development. The operation emphasizes development issues, and for a couple of years we have had a new position—a parent support social worker—to support the biological parents of children placed in foster care. This autumn we will also launch a project position focused on family treatment support for foster homes both in the attachment phase and in connection with placement challenges. This position will be held by one of our current foster care secretaries, which has created the need to recruit a new foster care secretary. There is awareness at the workplace about the importance of recovery, and there is an opportunity to regularly work from home. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds and experiences and strive for a work group characterized by diversity, equality, and inclusion. The municipality offers wellness compensation as well as the opportunity to exchange vacation compensation for extra days off. Communication options are good, the workplace is located approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus and Pågatåg station. Work Tasks The work tasks of a foster care secretary consist of investigating foster homes, emergency care homes, contact families, and contact persons, as well as training them for the assignment. Furthermore, an important work task is to supervise foster homes and emergency care homes both individually and in groups and, in close collaboration with case-responsible social workers, to help ensure that children placed in emergency care homes and foster homes receive the care they need. The work tasks also include administering compensation issues for contractors. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. You have at least three years of experience in social work with children. Since the work consists of investigative, educational, and supervisory tasks, very good Swedish both spoken and written is required. You have a B-category driver's license. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of and experience with authority work involving placed children, are trained in Kälvesten and/or New Kälvesten. It is advantageous if you are trained to deliver the training "A Home to Grow In" and in supervising foster homes. To succeed in the role, you have the ability to prioritize and meet people with a professional and empathetic approach. Before employment, you must provide a degree certificate from social work education, ID documentation (passport or national ID card), driver's license, and an extract from the criminal record register. Other Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period.
