WORK DUTIES As a unit manager with us, you function as operations manager for sewerage. You report directly to the department manager and are responsible for operation, maintenance, and development of the municipality's wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and sludge facilities. You have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, work environment, and finances within the unit and work to ensure long-term sustainable and efficient wastewater management. You lead a group of skilled employees and play an important role in creating conditions for good service to the municipality's residents while the operation meets legal requirements, environmental permits, and the municipality's goals. The position is part of the Water and Sewerage Department's management team and involves close collaboration with other municipal operations, authorities, contractors, and external actors. The work duties include: • Lead, plan, and develop the unit's operations. • Have full personnel responsibility for the unit's employees, including work supervision, competence development, employee meetings, and rehabilitation. • Assume responsibility for systematic work environment efforts and promote a pleasant, safe, and healthy workplace. • Establish, follow up, and take responsibility for the unit's procurements, budget, and financial results. • Ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with environmental legislation, authority requirements, and municipal governing documents. • Drive improvement and development work with focus on quality, efficiency, sustainability, and digitalization. • Participate in strategic planning of future investments and development of water and sewerage operations. • Represent the operation in dialogue with authorities, contractors, and other collaboration partners. The position may involve on-call duty. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking you who have: • Relevant higher education in, for example, water and sewerage technology, environmental technology, civil engineering, operations technology, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. • Experience in leadership with responsibility for personnel, work environment, and budget. • Good knowledge of systematic work environment efforts and employment law matters. • Experience from water and sewerage operations, process industry, technical operations, or other similar activities. • Ability to work both strategically and operatively. • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. • Category B driving license. You are a clear and present leader who creates trust, engagement, and participation. You have good collaboration skills, a solution-oriented approach, and the ability to make decisions based on what's best for the operation. You are driven by developing both people and operations and have a strong interest in infrastructure development and sustainable growth. Employment form: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: September 1, 2026 or by agreement.
