The Economics Department is part of the Regional Board's departments within Region Västerbotten. The Economics Department provides active support to the region's administrations and has broad responsibility for the entire region. The Economics Department is divided into five units: Procurement, controller support HSF, controller support RUF, controller support RSF, and accounting & governance. We offer a strategic and development-oriented mission within a central economics function, where you have great opportunities to influence and further develop work with budgeting, accounting, follow-up and analysis. The Economics Department is facing an exciting transformation journey with new working methods and opportunities linked to digitalization, including development in AI and analysis. At the same time, there is a clear need to create structure and systematization for effective financial governance. We are now seeking a unit manager for the Accounting and Governance unit, reporting directly to the economics director 1 position(s). DUTIES You will become part of the economics department's management group and work closely with operations and other support functions. Here there are good opportunities to long-term influence both working methods and processes to boldly move us forward. In this role, you have overall responsibility for developing and coordinating budgeting, accounting and follow-up. You work both strategically and operatively to ensure quality, structure and efficiency in economic processes. A central part of the assignment is to ensure good accounting practice. You operate in a central function with different areas of responsibility where you in the role should serve as qualified support and sounding board as well as contribute strategically to the economics department's management group. You act as a role model, have a holistic perspective, work to create shared visions and unleash initiative. You challenge, develop, encourage and make your employees visible. You take responsibility for your operations within your authority and represent the employer by leading toward decided goals for the region's benefit. The assignment mainly consists of responsibility for the region's central budgeting, follow-up and accounting process. In addition, the unit works with financial tasks, overall analyses and accounts receivable, among other things. This means you have direct management responsibility for nine controllers and two section managers within the accounts receivable area. You lead the work within the unit and are responsible for finances, operations, work environment and personnel. A central challenge in the assignment is to create collective impact and cooperation between different areas of expertise and responsibility within the unit. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have relevant university education or alternatively other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have management experience and a multi-year background in economics, for example within accounting and financial management. Furthermore, you have experience working in financial systems and BI tools as well as good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. It is meritorious if you have a degree in business administration or equivalent, experience from the public sector or work in larger organizations. It is also positive if you have experience leading and developing complex processes. As a person, you are communicative and pedagogical with the ability to create structure and clarity. You are confident in your leadership and can combine strategic thinking with operational implementation. Furthermore, you are analytical and motivated by developing both working methods and employees. You find it easy to collaborate and build trusting relationships both within and outside the organization. Employment form: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: By agreement.
