Description We are now seeking an engaged unit manager for our children and youth services unit. A lot is happening in our area right now, and we are in an exciting transition based on the new social services law. Our focus is on building a modern operation with early preventive measures and high accessibility and quality. Our children and youth unit is organized together with Backa Barnet coordinators and coordinators, family centers, family counseling, and counselors at the youth clinic within the same unit. Collaboration is at the core of everything we do, and we work deliberately to break traditional structures and create a cohesive chain around the children. By integrating the Backa Barnet model, we ensure a proactive approach and early, coordinated support. Work Tasks As unit manager for authority operations, you will be a key person in driving and implementing the transition toward future social services. You have overall responsibility for leading, developing, and supporting your team in their daily work. Your assignment includes implementing legislation and national goals with a focus on legal certainty and early intervention. The role also involves extensive and close collaboration with other parts of the unit as well as external partners within education, health care, and other important stakeholders. You are also responsible for the unit's work environment, finances, operational planning, and systematic quality work, where you create engagement and trust in your staff group. A class B driver's license is required. Since the work involves several administrative tasks, you need good computer skills and be able to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the position. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a social work degree and previous experience in leadership or management. You have solid experience in authority operations with children and youth as well as good knowledge of current legislation and the ongoing structural transformation within social services. Since the operation is in transition, you need to be comfortable with development processes, strategic, and driven by improving structures. As a person you are communicative and skilled at building good relationships. You have the ability to inspire your colleagues and lead with trust in a changing environment.
