WORK DUTIES As a student assistant, you work closely with a student with special needs and support them throughout the school day. This may involve creating a sense of safety, helping them understand instructions, guiding them in social situations, and contributing to the student's ability to focus and absorb teaching. You help the student understand the day's schedule, prepare for transitions, and work with strategies that create calm and safety. To support instruction, you help the student get started with tasks, interpret instructions, and maintain focus. You work closely with the teacher to adapt work methods and materials. An important part of your role is building a stable and trusting relationship with the student, which is an important foundation for the student to feel safe and be able to develop. You work closely with the student's teacher and student support team and are an important part of the comprehensive support around the student. When you are not working directly with the specific student, you support other students in the activity. This may mean that you are present in the classroom, group rooms, or in connection with instruction to contribute to work focus, structure, and support where needed. The position includes: • Creating safety and structure for the student during the school day • Supporting the student in teaching situations and in social contexts • Working to build relationships, establish trust, and contribute to a calm and predictable climate • Close dialogue and collaboration with teachers and student support regarding adaptations and strategies • Supporting the student in developing independence and positive strategies • Contributing to a good learning environment in the classroom and at school QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • Training as a treatment assistant, social pedagogue, student assistant, or other relevant education in pedagogy or social work • Experience working with children or young people with special needs, ADHD, or psychosocial challenges • Knowledge of low-arousal approaches and relationship-building work methods As a person, you are confident, stable, and have a strong ability to build trusting relationships. You meet students with respect, attentiveness, and a calm approach, even in situations that may be challenging. You have a genuine interest in understanding the student's needs and work in a structured and clear manner to create safety and predictability in daily life. You are solution-focused, patient, and work well in collaboration with both teachers and student support. Your communication skills allow you to adapt your approach based on the student's daily condition and needs. You also take responsibility, are reliable, and contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
