Student Assistant and Recreation Leader

Östra skolan in Färjestaden is now looking for you—someone with experience and expertise in balancing care and education. You enjoy work that makes a difference and are driven by taking significant personal responsibility in your role as a student assistant. You value teamwork and see recreation activities as an important and enjoyable area to work in. During the school day, your task is to support a 12-year-old boy in the classroom, during breaks, in meal and hygiene situations, and during other activities. You are highly involved in planning around the student's school day, adapting tasks, collaborating with teaching staff, mentors, work teams, special education teams, and other services such as rehabilitation and speech therapy. In the afternoons, you are an engaged recreation leader who, together with our skilled recreation team, delivers a developmental and rewarding recreation program. You have experience from the school environment and you have a clear leadership role and a good feel for interactions with students. In your role as a student assistant, you will meet and get to know a boy with sparkle in his eyes. With your humor, creativity, flexibility, and strong empathetic abilities, you help and support our student who needs special support for learning, development, and independence. You are a service-oriented person who is positive, cheerful, solution-focused, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. Your responsibilities as a student assistant include: • assisting the student in hygiene situations • maintaining contact with guardians • helping the student in a wheelchair with mobility and transfers, which may include lifting, and serving as an escort during school taxi rides We are looking for someone with childcare education and nursing assistant certification, and experience working as a recreation leader. The position requires strong oral and written Swedish language skills. Knowledge of sign language/sign-supported communication is a must. We look forward to receiving your application. This is a full-time position as a student assistant combined with recreation leader duties. Östra skolan is an F-9 school with approximately 260 students.
