JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are seeking an economist for the Social Services Department's operations, positioned within the Municipal Executive Office Administration, Economics Unit. Our current administrative economist is moving on to a new assignment within the unit. Your responsibilities will primarily consist of budgeting, follow-up, accounting, and analysis. By participating in management group and committee meetings, you will provide support to the department management and to politicians in the committee on financial matters. The work also involves overarching financial management at the central level, including financial statements, accounting, vendor invoices, journal entries, and other common tasks within the economics department. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with relevant higher education in economics, or with other backgrounds combined with knowledge and experience that the employer considers equivalent, and who is thorough and organized in your work approach. You have a good ability to explain economic relationships in a pedagogical way to different levels of managers and politicians, and you also have a good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. You need knowledge of accounting, budgeting, follow-up, and analysis, as well as an interest in development work within the economics field. You also need to be comfortable using Excel and other systems in your work. Experience working in a politically governed organization and experience with financial work within the social services area, as well as knowledge of the Raindance financial system, are merits for this position.
