The municipal management office includes activities in finance, HR, communication, administration, growth, and development. The Finance Unit provides support to operations and organizational managers regarding budgets, ongoing accounting, follow-up, annual reports, investigations, and more. We are now seeking an economist for an operations-focused role. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES As an economist with us, you will provide support to both the Service Sector and the Environment and Construction Sector. Within the Service Sector, the assignment includes units such as facilities, meals, and culture and leisure. You will also be responsible for preparing and following up the municipality's investment budget and fixed asset accounting. You work closely with operations with a focus on budgets, follow-up, and forecasting. Examples of job duties: • Budget work and financial planning • Ongoing follow-up, forecasting, and analysis • Support to managers in financial matters • Preparation of decision-making materials and reports • Participation in development work within financial management QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with an interest in financial management and who thrives in a role where analysis and operations support are central. Qualifications: • Economics degree from college/university or other relevant academic education • Experience working with budgets, follow-up, and forecasting • Very good Excel skills • Good knowledge of other office software • Strong analytical skills and experience working with numbers Merits: • Experience from the public sector • Experience with operations-focused financial work • Experience working in financial systems including fixed asset registers • Experience with investment project follow-up To succeed in this role, we see that you have a pedagogical approach and the ability to make financial relationships understandable and accessible to different audiences.
