District Technician in the Ferry Operations is one of our most important roles, where the district technician works in daily operations with corrective maintenance but especially with long-term preventive maintenance. You work closely with operational crews in collaboration with the district manager. The district technician is responsible for a large portion of external and internal communication on technical matters. Therefore, it is important to maintain close dialogue and attentive communication. An important part is collaboration with the central technical department, external contractors, and our internal shipyard. We are looking for a technician with documented strong leadership qualities for the Northern Bohuslän district, which covers the ferry routes Bohus-Malmönleden, Hamburgsundsleden, and Gullmarsleden. You are receptive to improvement suggestions and want to develop operations together with crews on our ferry routes. The district technician is primarily responsible for ensuring that mechanical maintenance and required service are performed on ferries, landing facilities, and guard houses within the district. The district technician plans, together with the district manager and ship engineers, future renovations, projects, and budgets, and places orders and follows up on invoices. Your task is to create conditions for technical deficiencies that arise to be addressed and reported, using both internal and contracted resources. You are responsible for keeping the maintenance system updated and work with continuous improvements to increase availability for our vessels. Part of the work is ensuring that materials for both strategic and corrective maintenance are in place and that procedures and documentation are current.
