We are now recruiting a Design Authority for Saab Dynamics. Your Role As Design Authority, you will have a central and overarching role where you are responsible for the complete technical perspective within a product family. You will work in a leadership function and collaborate closely with multiple parts of the organization - from early studies and development projects to maintenance and further development of existing systems. The role involves ensuring that our products stand the test of time, both from a technical and systemic perspective. You will lead and coordinate a broad technical organization and serve as an important link between different disciplines such as mechanics, electronics, and software. Examples of responsibilities: Hold overall technical responsibility within a product family Ensure system functionality, requirements, and technical solutions over time Lead and coordinate a cross-functional technical organization Work with the entire product lifecycle - from early studies to aftermarket Provide technical support to projects, program management, and other stakeholders Contribute to strategic technical decisions and long-term development Your Profile We are looking for someone with a strong technical interest who thrives in a leadership role where you can combine technology, structure, and collaboration. In this role, you will have clear leadership responsibility, where you are expected to drive the work forward, create direction and engagement, and ensure that the right technical decisions are made over time. We would appreciate a confident leader who can combine a strategic perspective with operational commitment. You have a background in development and a good understanding of complex systems. To succeed in this role, you need to have a holistic perspective, be able to make decisions, and create engagement across a broad organization. We believe you have: A degree in engineering or equivalent Several years of experience in technology development, preferably in mechanics-intensive products Experience working with complex systems where software and electronics are also involved Experience in a leadership or coordinating role Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders A structured work approach and strong drive It is meritorious if you have experience with our products or similar technical systems. The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to applicable regulations for security clearance at any given time.
