JOB DUTIES Do you want to make a real difference for people living with cognitive disease and their loved ones? We are now seeking an engaged and knowledgeable dementia nurse who wants to be part of developing future person-centered care and support within our organization. With us, you will have a key role in strengthening quality of life, safety and self-determination for people with dementia. You will become an important knowledge bearer in the organization and work in a patient-centered, consultative and development-focused manner. About the assignment As a dementia nurse, you work independently and in close collaboration with nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, benefits administrators, care staff, physicians and external care providers. The role includes, among other things: • supporting early detection of cognitive impairment and contributing to basic dementia assessment • providing support and advice to people with cognitive disease and their loved ones • working person-centered based on the individual's life story, habits, values and wishes • supervising, educating and strengthening licensed staff and care personnel in complex care situations • working structurally with BPSD, SveDem and preventive measures • leading and developing teamwork around people with cognitive disease • contributing to coordination between the municipality, primary care, specialty care and social services • driving quality and improvement work in the field of cognitive diseases • promoting equitable, safe and evidence-based care. This aligns well with the national competency description where the specialist nurse's role includes leading the care process, supervising teams, working preventively and ensuring person-centered care. QUALIFICATIONS We seek you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with specialist training in care of the elderly or dementia, or alternatively other experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have: • good knowledge of cognitive diseases and their consequences • experience in municipal care and support, preferably elderly care • experience in supervising and educating colleagues • ability to work independently, consultatively and in teams • a person-centered approach • interest in organizational development and improvement work • good communication and pedagogical skills. As a person, you are confident, attentive and solution-oriented. You see the whole picture around the individual and have an easy way of building trusting relationships.
