Description As a budget and debt advisor, you work closely with people who are facing financial difficulties and need support to get their finances in order. The position of budget and debt advisor/estate administrator is located in Värnamo within the administration unit and covers the entire GGVV area (Gislaved, Gnosjö, Vaggeryd, and Värnamo). The unit consists of five employees and is led by a team leader. The workplace is characterized by good atmosphere, participation, and an open climate where employees are expected to contribute to the development of the operations. Duties In this role, you provide guidance in personal finance and create structure and overview together with the individual over their financial situation, guiding them toward sustainable long-term solutions. You map income, expenses, and debts, help establish budgets and payment plans, and guide and support in the debt settlement process. The work takes place through physical meetings as well as by phone, email, and digital channels. An important part of the assignment is preventive work, which may include giving lectures and training on personal finance to schools, associations, and other target groups. You collaborate with various actors such as the Swedish Enforcement Authority, the Social Insurance Agency, the Tax Agency, banks, and collection agencies, as well as the municipality's own operations. The work requires a coaching and guiding approach focused on strengthening the individual's own ability and contributing to sustainable long-term financial solutions. The position also includes estate administration, where you have contact with relatives in connection with estate notifications in situations where the assets in the estate do not cover a probate inventory. Estate administration consists of the following case types: Estate Notification - prepared if the deceased's assets cover only funeral costs and other expenses related to the death. Estate Administration - if there are no estate heirs, social services are responsible for the temporary administration of the estate until the heirs have been located and notified and have taken over management of the estate. International Estates - if there is property in Sweden after someone who did not have their residence in Sweden at the time of death, notification of the death shall be made to social services. Funeral - if the deceased lacks relatives who arrange the funeral, social services have an obligation to ensure that a funeral takes place. The social services' task is to determine the funeral arrangement and order it from a funeral home. Qualifications The position requires relevant education or equivalent experience, for example as a social worker, economist, or behavioral scientist, as well as knowledge of relevant legislation. You need to be able to work independently, plan and organize your work, and have a good ability to meet people in different life situations in a respectful manner. You should also be outgoing, collaboration-oriented, and have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. Experience working with people in financial hardship or preventive work is meritorious. As a budget and debt advisor/estate administrator, you have an important role where you make a difference for people in difficult situations and for society at large. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, and background checks are conducted prior to employment. Meritorious qualifications include: Experience in budget and debt counseling Knowledge of the BOSS+ system Knowledge of the Pulsen Combine system The application should include a CV and a cover letter.
