The Workplace The position is placed within the Infrastructure Development sector, which encompasses activities in construction and environment, facility services, emergency services, preparedness, and operations. You will work independently alongside a colleague and be based at the municipality's operations center. The municipality's broadband node station is also located here. The operations center is staffed by personnel from facilities, streets/parks, and broadband operations, which means close collaboration between different functions. In this role, you report directly to the Infrastructure Development Manager, who is your immediate supervisor. The Role and Responsibilities As a broadband/fiber technician with us, you will work practically and technically with the municipality's fiber network. The role is varied and involves both independent work and collaboration with colleagues, contractors, and property owners. Your responsibilities will include: - Installation and commissioning of fiber connections - Installation and commissioning of active equipment - Splicing, blowing, and feeding fiber (OTDR, attenuation measurement, etc.) - Documentation and reporting of completed work - Troubleshooting and maintenance of existing networks - Fiber blowing - Cable routing - On-site customer contact - Administrative tasks related to the work Your Profile We are looking for you who: - Have experience with fiber installation, including fiber blowing and fiber splicing - Hold a Class B driver's license - Have normal color vision (the work requires you to distinguish color coding in fiber installations) - Have good ability to communicate clearly and pedagogically in Swedish, both verbally and in writing It is advantageous if you have: - Relevant education from a vocational college or equivalent - Experience with GIS systems and CAD for documentation - Certification in Robust Fiber - Ability to be available on short notice when needed, as work may occur at inconvenient times, including night shifts. For this reason, we would prefer that you live in or near Nordmalings Municipality. You work in a structured and meticulous manner, with high quality in every step, as the work requires precision and adherence to standards. You are flexible and can handle varying work days, sometimes with quick changes. Since you often meet customers and collaborate with others, you are service-oriented and communicative in your interactions. Furthermore, you have good problem-solving skills and can independently analyze and address technical challenges in the field.
