The Joint Management Administration consists of the operational areas Democracy & Service, Finance & Procurement, Working Life & Digital Technology, Strategic Community Planning, Fire & Rescue Service & Safety, and the staff office. The administration is tasked with leading, supporting, and coordinating the entire municipal organization on behalf of the Municipal Executive Board. This is done by keeping the customer's needs in focus and by having a holistic perspective and shared working methods. The Fire & Rescue Service & Safety operational area is characterized by responsibility, collaboration, and strong community engagement. Here we work to create safety for residents and businesses through preventive work, supervision, training, and emergency response. A total of 128 people work within Fire & Rescue Service & Safety, and in the operational part, 35 full-time firefighters, 57 on-call rescue personnel (part-time firefighters), and 20 in fire services work. The position is linked to the fire station in Borensberg. 2 position(s). WORK TASKS Your work tasks are to maintain readiness, respond to emergency calls, and participate in exercises to improve your skills in areas related to our most common types of emergencies. This could include fire, traffic accidents, medical aid, or water rescue. Readiness time is scheduled according to a rotating schedule of 168 hours/month or according to other local agreements. Training and exercise time is approximately 60 hours/year. After one year in the position, you must complete MSB's Basic Training for On-Call Rescue Personnel (GRIB). See MSB.se It is a paid training program of 6 weeks total and is in two parts. Planning for when these two parts should be completed is done in consultation with the employer. QUALIFICATIONS To build a good fire service, we are looking for people of different ages with a diversity of backgrounds and experiences. You are confident in yourself, stand up for your opinions, and have the courage to speak up when needed. You have the ability to separate the issue from the person and can feel secure even in uncertain situations. It is important that you work well with other people. You relate to them in a responsive and flexible manner. You can adapt and seek solutions through a straightforward approach with focus on the common goal. You do your best by doing what you can right now. Readiness and response time: • On-call firefighter means that you can get to the fire station in the event of an emergency whether you are at home or at your regular workplace. Alternatively, you have the option to work from home during your readiness period. It is therefore important that you both live and work within 7 minutes from the fire station in Borensberg. Driver's License Requirements: • At the time of employment, you must have at least a Class B driver's license. Class C is a plus. If you do not have Class C eligibility when employment is finalized, you must begin training to obtain a Class C license. The employer contributes to the cost. Good Physical Condition: • Work as a firefighter is physically demanding, therefore you need to be healthy according to AFS 2023:13 and maintain good physical fitness. Permission from Employer: • You need approval from your main employer to be on-call during regular working hours. Swimming Proficiency: • Able to swim in accordance with Silverbojen. Proven by certificate from staff at a swimming pool. The certificate must be presented before proceeding to the health check. Tests: • You will perform a treadmill test dressed in emergency gear and approximately 20kg of equipment, at 4.5km/h with an 8-degree incline for 6 minutes. • You will also take an obstacle course where we test endurance, strength, claustrophobia, and how you handle heights. If you proceed, you will have a health check. • Training in municipal fire and rescue service - It is a plus if you have already worked in Fire & Rescue Service in another location or have training in municipal Fire & Rescue Service.
