2 position(s). The Rescue Service works to ensure that Norrtälje is a safe and secure municipality for all residents, even under difficult circumstances. We maintain 24/7 readiness at our five fire stations on Blidö, in Norrtälje, Hallstavik, Rimbo, and Älmsta. Our mission is complex and we work both preventatively and in damage control. The preventative mission includes information, advice, and guidance to residents as well as training for students and employees in the municipality. The Rescue Service is responsible for fire safety inspections and permitting and supervision matters regarding the handling of flammable and explosive materials. We conduct fire protection inspections in-house and are responsible for chimney sweeping performed by contracted partners. Our damage control activities include rescue operations at fires, accidents, releases of environmentally hazardous substances, and other emergencies. We collaborate with 12 other rescue service organizations in the Eastern Svealand Rescue Region. As a firefighter, you will be part of one of our four shift teams in Norrtälje's full-time force with your shift commander as your immediate supervisor. The shift team also includes a relief shift commander and 7 firefighters. You will be available for emergency response in our damage control operations where we collaborate with many other actors. A work shift consists of, in addition to emergency responses, daily routines, training, physical exercise, and other rescue service tasks where you contribute your expertise. A service-oriented mindset and good interpersonal skills are qualities you possess. Practical skills, communication ability, and good physical fitness are important for this position. Since the work is complex, we would appreciate it if you describe your competence and experience from a broad perspective, as it is our differences that make us strong together.
