Welcome to us Kvarnbyskolan is a preschool through grade 6 school with approximately 310 students, including a newly established adapted primary school. Approximately 64 employees work at Kvarnbyskolan. The school is located in Rinkeby and has functional facilities about 5 minutes from the subway. Kvarnbyskolan has a complete student health team and a staffed school library. The adapted primary school is located in the primary school's facilities, and we work toward inclusion based on all students' abilities. Please read more about the school here We are now looking for an assistant principal who will combine a school leadership position at approximately 50% with teaching (preferably in Math/Science/Technology) for the remaining time. The school leadership assignment may expand over time. Read more here. Your role As assistant principal, you have primary responsibility for students, staff, and budget within your part of the operation. This includes responsibility for employee conversations, salary discussions, competence planning, professional development, and work environment. You are part of the school's management group and student health team, and you work together with others in school leadership to develop and lead Kvarnbyskolan toward shared goals. Other work tasks and areas of responsibility include: - assisting the principal with everything that may be needed in their task of leading the school in operational, pedagogical, and leadership matters. - Working with the School Development Agreement (SKA) to create good conditions for quality teaching and student learning. - Leading pedagogical development processes. - Creating and maintaining good relationships with staff, students, and guardians. You are a collaborative and solution-focused leader who has the ability to initiate, lead, and follow up on various school processes. You are attentive, relational, and goal-oriented and build your leadership through trust, professionalism, and confidence. You work with loyalty and professionalism, and your constant focus is on students and developing their achievement of goals. Your competence and experience We are looking for you who have: A university or college degree with a pedagogical focus and valid teacher certification. Experience teaching in primary school. Good knowledge of school organization, systematic quality work, and student health services. Knowledge of cultural diversity. Knowledge of work environment practices. High knowledge of school regulations. Good digital competence. Good communication skills and ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing. It is advantageous if you have: Teacher certification in one or more of the subjects Math, Science, or Technology. Completed a principal program. Completed leadership or management group training. Experience as a school leader with personnel responsibility. Experience as a school leader with personnel responsibility in primary school's lower grades (preschool through grade 6). Trust, attentiveness, and relationship-building are competencies you possess and can combine with leading through clarity, high expectations, and decisiveness.
